Gastroscopy
Upper Endoscopy (Gastroscopy also known as Panendoscopy)
An upper endoscopy (gastroscopy) enables physicians to see inside the oesophagus, stomach and duodenum.
This diagnostic tool is used to analyse swallowing difficulties, nausea, vomiting, reflux, bleeding, indigestion, and abdominal pain or chest pain.
Biopsies can be obtained for further analysis during a gastroscopy.
A sedative and pain medication is normally used for patient comfort.
